Sarn Helen
This short film documentary follows endurance cyclist Daniil Sadomskij as he embarks on the formidable challenge of riding the legendary Sarn Helen trail in Wales a demanding route stretching nearly 300 kilometers with more than 5,000 meters of elevation gain in an ambitious attempt to set a new record time. Filmed in real time and enhanced with stunning cinematic drone footage, documentary-style storytelling, and exclusive behind-the-scenes insights, the project vividly captures the raw endurance, breathtaking landscapes, and numerous challenges posed by one of the UK’s toughest and most iconic cycling routes. Produced and directed by filmmaker William Tisdall Downes (myself), this marks my debut short film documentary, skilfully blending elements of sports cinematography, adventure filmmaking, and authentic storytelling to create an engaging and immersive experience.
